Zikhona is a winner on rugby field

Zikhona is a 10th grader at Christel House South Africa. She’s now also a star rugby player in Cape Town. In the rugby finals, she scored three times (touchdown in American football), leading her team to win the South Africa national tournament! Amazingly, Zikhona had never played rugby until just last year. “Rugby is known to be a rough sport. I was scared of being tackled,” she admits. Encouraged by her family, Zikhona overcame her fears and learned quickly. She says her rugby success has her considering a career in sports management after she graduates. “Christel House has changed my life tremendously. My peers in Langa don’t have this opportunity,” she says. “I am grateful and want to make a change through sports and in everything I do.”
