Christel House South Africa welcomes new Board leadership

Christel House South Africa is proud to announce the election of a new board Chair, Ian Russell. A long-standing member of Christel House’s board, Ian was the previous Chief Executive Officer of BCX, Africa’s largest technology company. Ian now heads up Disrupting Consultancy, is a bestselling author and a global speaker. Russell, who draws on more than 25 years’ experience of leading and strengthening large organisations around the world, commented:

“I am delighted, honoured and immensely humbled to be asked to chair the Christel House South Africa Board. The school has made the most incredible impact on the local community over the years and I am looking forward to helping support the management of the school in driving even greater success in the future.” commented Ian.

Christel House expresses its deep gratitude to Steve Ross, previous chair of Edcon, for his 8 years at Christel House, 7 of which as Chair. Steve’s contribution to the school has been immense and his focused involvement and leadership significantly impacted the organisation’s strategic direction and improved sustainability. The outgoing Chair who remains on the board, noted, “It has been my privilege these last eight years to serve the wonderful children of Christel House and a further honour to work with such a talented, committed and compassionate team. We are very fortunate to have excellence and commitment in every party of our faculty and senior team.”

The board is further strengthened with the appointment of three new board members who each bring professional acumen to the board. The school welcomes Advocate Derrick Petersen, Baba Mogase and Professor Linda Ronnie.

Through astute governance and committed leadership from its Board of Directors, Christel House South Africa continues to transform the lives of its students and equip them with critical skills to flourish in the modern workplace.
