For 25 years, Christel House South Africa has provided no-fee, holistic education to students from underserved communities in the Western Cape. Today, we are growing - to reach more learners, in more communities, across South Africa.
In May 2026, Christel House South Africa officially opened our new High School building at the Ottery campus – a major milestone in our commitment to educational access in the Western Cape.
The new building directly responds to growing demand for quality high school education in the Western Cape, where thousands of learners still struggle to access schools that provide strong academic and holistic support.
As part of our 2030 growth strategy, Christel House South Africa is expanding its Junior School from Grade RR to Grade 7, increasing capacity from 60 to 90 learners per grade – a 50% increase that allows significantly more children to access quality foundational education during their earliest developmental years.
In May 2026, we welcomed a new group of Grade RR learners as part of this phased expansion. Future construction plans are underway to develop additional classroom space across the Junior School campus.
Christel House South Africa is preparing for its next major expansion: a brand-new Grade RR–12 campus backed by a significant international investment, set to extend our reach to even more underserved communities.
Work is currently underway to secure a suitable site for the new school. Once established, this campus will bring the same proven holistic model – education, nutrition, healthcare, transport, and career support – to thousands more learners across South Africa.
"Christel House is changing the way we view independent education, and setting the standard for high quality, no-fee schooling. We appreciate their commitment to invest in the Western Cape by adding a new high school and a planned second campus, which will benefit the learners who need support the most."
"Christel House South Africa's 25-year journey reflects the power of sustained investment, strong partnerships, and a holistic approach to education. As they expand their footprint in the Western Cape, Edu Invest remains committed to supporting initiatives that deliver economic growth that strengthens competitiveness and creates jobs."
Achieving our ambitious expansion goals requires collaboration with like-minded partners. By joining us on this journey, you can help create lasting change for thousands of children and their communities.
