This month, our students at Christel House were privileged to receive a visit from Charles Abrahams, a world-class lawyer and author of the book “Class Action”. Abrahams was also a long-serving member of Christel House’s Board of Directors. He visited our campus in Ottery, Cape Town, to impart an inspiring message to Christel House students about remaining focused on achieving their goals and how they must never lose sight of their dreams and pursue them with vigor and passion.
In his newly published book, Charles recounts his personal story of growing up in the Cape Flats, as one of eleven children in a poor family, but how he realised his dream of becoming a world-class lawyer. Abrahams reiterated to our students the importance of perseverance and resilience when one is determined to pursue and achieve one’s dreams.
With a mission to break the cycle of poverty, our school-works to empower students to reach their potential through character-based and career-focused education. Abrahams believes in the Christel House model of working to break the cycle of poverty. Despite the challenging socio-economic circumstances, Christel House students go on to achieve exceptional results, outstripping their peers and attaining a 100% matric pass rate since inception.
