Roche, a Swiss multinational healthcare company, has committed to sponsoring ten grade 10 students for 3 years at Christel House South Africa (CHSA). Students with an interest in science, engineering, and technology will receive the scholarships.
The Roche team visited the school campus and gave student’s insight into the healthcare industry, career opportunities at Roche, and a broad overview of their two strong core businesses: Pharmaceuticals and Diagnostics. Also on the tour, Daniel Schneider, from the Swiss Embassy in South Africa, visited with students and explained how the embassy supports partnerships between Switzerland and South Africa. “In partnering with Christel House, we are confident that there will be a far-reaching impact for our sponsored students and their families,” says Janine Baillie-Stewart, People and Culture Business Partner at Roche Diagnostics - Cape Town. “Christel House is providing a journey, not only of schooling, but of social transformation that we hope will create a platform of opportunity and a knock-on effect that will enrich the lives of the learners’ families and in turn, their communities at large.” Roche joins the ranks of several other partners that are contributing to the growth of Christel House and the wellbeing of its students.
