Encouraging female scientists of the future

Meet two Grade 11 girls at our school, who are passionate about all things related to science and maths.

Aluta T. is a remarkable student who lives in Philippi with her grandmother, mother, aunt, and extended family including her little sister who is currently in Grade RR at our school.  Aluta draws strength from her late grandmother, who recently lost her battle with cancer. She aspires to study Radiology, specifically Radiotherapy, to combat cancer and alleviate suffering.

Saskia P. is an exceptional student who comes from Eastridge, Mitchell’s Plain. She lives with her mother, father, grandmother, and younger sister, who is also enrolled at our school as a Grade 2 student. Saskia draws inspiration from her favourite subject, Life Science and dreams of pursuing a career in forensics. She is inspired by trailblazers like Marie Curie and Rosalind Franklin.
